Hello guys today I will discuss about math.. maybe when you hear about math is boring lesson with all of number and formula to count that... hmmmm now, I will discuss why students hates mathematics but I think there some of you like to counting number in math...
let's enjoy this article.. :)
Why we must study mathematics ? because mathematical proficiency is required for many jobs , mathematics is essential for science, engineering, and research . Mathematics is Useful in Other Ways like Balancing a checkbook , Calculating a tip , Choosing a cell-phone plan , Using a recipe , Playing pool . Building a deck , Betting on poker , and Investing for retirement . These tasks demand proficiency with arithmetic, geometry, combinatorics, and estimation. Furthermore, mathematics connects directly and indirectly with many other domains of knowledge. Its applications to science and engineering are clear, but mathematical strategies apply in many fields . Mathematics may be worthwhile, but how is a student supposed to guess it from such a curriculum? What is being taught is not mathematics but the procedures that mathematicians use. Mathematical problems do not come with a note attached reading "please complete the square;" in fact, a primary challenge in doing mathematics is deciding when to apply a particular tool. Real problems -- in life and in higher math -- demand strategies drawn from anywhere within the full spectrum of mathematics, and often more than one of them in series. I think that the majority of students can manage arithmetic, fractions, and decimals…and it would be better to work on that through high school if necessary than for them to fake their way through years of watered-down algebra and higher math and be unable to actually do any of it on the job.
Students who aren’t headed in that direction (carpenters, plumbers, nurses, etc) can use the time to work on the math that is used every day (which may include algebra, but not in 8th grade), but nowadays many student hate mathematics, the calculator, along with a number of teachers in elementary schools who cannot actually teach math, students, and their parents (who in MOST cases) absolutely HATED math in school hasn’t helped either . Well that’s the problem. Well that’s the problem. Most Math curriculum don’t allow time for the development of the arithmetic skills.
You’ve put your finger on a problem that is not limited to math, but perhaps is most evident there. Instructional time, even when very well used (obviously not always the case) is insufficient for the practice needed by many students to gain automatised in basic skills and operations. This goes for reading skills, writing conventions, spelling, history and science foundation knowledge, etc.
The ability to memorize and become automatic at various skills is not closely linked to IQ in the early years, but there is research to show that this aptitude improves with practice. Unfortunately more and more gets crowded INTO the curriculum and nothing seems ever to get taken OUT.
For me , why I hated mathematics because Good maths teachers are HARD TO find nowadays! The teachers do understand what they're doing, however, transferring the knowledge is more complicated than it looks? , Students are becoming lazier. Maths is not a lazy subject. A quitter is not a mathematician , Maths itself is a frustrating subject---even for the experts , Mathematical concepts are very parallel. So therefore, when one does not grasp a concept, odds are it gonna mess most everything else up .(dim)
This article based on writer experience but if you like math is good for you...
